We are abroad in a sea of infinite variety. In order to recognise features by which we may navigate, it is necessary to bring the great and universal powers of such as the sun and stars into reach by giving them clothes of earth. This is why we approach the Divine through metaphor. We are born in a field and behold the stars. We seek sustenance and behold the masters of our destiny.
